VIRTUAL TEACHERS’ DAY 2021

Gotamco Elementary School conducted the Virtual School-Based Teachers’ Day Celebration with the theme: “Gurong Filipino, Katuwang sa Hamon Kasama sa Pagbangon.” It was celebrated last Friday, October 8, 2021, from 8:00 to 10:00 o’clock in the morning via Google Meet App and was spearheaded by the Faculty Club Officers led by Mr. Jul Lester Castillo.

The program began with a prayer and nationalistic song led by the master of ceremony Ms. Kareena Victoria S. Vitto. Mr. Jesus G. Delos Reyes in his heartwarming opening remarks, followed by the inspiring message from the supportive School Principal, Ms. Laarni R. Alejandro as she acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of the teachers in Gotamco in sharing their wisdom, mold young minds to become responsible, law-abiding, God-fearing and value laden. Also, she recognized the teachers’ tireless efforts who are boldly facing and overcoming the uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adding excitement to the program, the newly hired teachers, Mr. Emman Jay Gabor and Ms. Angelica D. Guyagon rendered their song intermission number. An audio-visual presentation dedicated to teachers was shown during the program, which made the event meaningful.

Teachers participated actively in the online games facilitated by Ms. Melanie Borbe, Mr. Jul Lester Castillo and Ms. Jan Marnelle Operiano.

Plaques and Certificate of Recognition were also given to honor Service Awardees and Retirees.

The highlight of the event that made everyone felt excited was the drawing of the minor and major raffle prizes. Tokens like Fashion Notebooks were given and loot bags containing COVID Essentials and hygiene Kits as a gift of love to all teachers from the Rotary Club of Dasmarinas.

STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS (SOSA) 2021

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 160, s 2016 re: Status of Implementation of the School Report Card, Gotamco Elementary School through the initiative of the school head, Mrs. Laarni R. Alejandro conducted the State of the School Address last September 22, 2021 at 10 in the morning. Various stake-holders attended represented by the local government officials-barangay councilors attended as representatives of their respective barangay chairpersons, GPTA officers, and mostly the school’s parents, teachers and learners were present during the said virtual school activity through google meet in the morning and it was posted live in the afternoon for the sake of those who were not able to attend in the morning.

The School Report Card as it was presented and discussed by the school head serves as a communication and advocacy tool to inform stakeholders of the school status and to encourage and inspire them to take active role in planning, managing and improving the school in terms of access, quality and governance all for the betterment and improved performance of the school’s clienteles-the Gotamecian learners. Moreover, the SRC is a collaborative effort of the men and women of GES and the stakeholders wherein the success of the school is attributed to a large extent to the valued support of all.

GES Oplan Balik Eskwela SY 2021-2022

From September 6 to 17, 2021, Gotamco Elementary School enjoined itself in the Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) for School Year 2021- 2022 with the Theme: Bayanihan Para sa Ligtas na Balik Eskwela. The OBE is a DepEd annual initiative to engage agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders in preparation for the opening of the SY 2021-2022.

For the Kick -Off Ceremony, the OBE was a joint division-wide activity enjoined by all schools across the Division of Pasay City, both elementary, secondary and special schools conducted simultaneously last September 10, 2021 through a virtual ceremony led by the school’ division superintendent and other SDO officials.

The school’s OBE committee was chaired by Mrs. Laarni R. Alajandro, Principal of Gotamco Elementary School. Other members of the committee include Ms. Melanie B. Borbe, the School Information Coordinator, as a Vice-Chair; and the members are Mrs. Amalia M. Batula; Mrs. Geraldine E. Milo; Mrs. Joan M. Villaranda; Mrs. Editha O. Delos Reyes; Mrs. Kareena Vitto; Ms. Ma. Isabel D. Estuista; Mrs. Vilma A. Nabua; Mr. Jul Lester C. Castillo, in charge of the Alternative Learning System; and Ms. Aisha B. Racman, in charge of ALIVE Learners enrolment.

During the OBE Committee’s virtual conference on September 3, 2021, Mrs. Alejandro disseminated and highlighted the roles and responsibilities of each member to ensure that each one would be able to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently. The committee also determined what knowledge and skills required to reach the outcome.

The school ensures that all learners have been properly enrolled and orientations were conducted school-wide and other orientations are done per grade level and by the advisers as regard to the enrolment procedures, learning platforms, distribution of modules and also the implementation of the school’s Basic Learning Continuity Plan Process of Operationalization. All the queries, issues, and concerns were addressed promptly. There were no major issues and concerns from the parents, guardians, and learners since they were properly assisted during the whole duration of the said activity.

Agencies, private organizations and clubs, local government unit, barangay officials, alumni, and private individuals extended their help and participated in the School Oplan Balik Eskwela.

Through the collaborative efforts of the School OBE Committee and other school personnel, the opening of classes was smooth and well-coordinated.

Ipinagdiwang sa Gotamco Elementary School ang taunang National Reading Month na may temang “Celebrating Arts and Culture Through Reading” sa pangunguna na G. Joel D. Keliste, ang English Coordinator, kasama ang mga mag-aaral, mga magulang, at mga guro upang ipaalala ang kahalagahan ng pagbabasa, gayundin ang sining at kultura ng bansa.

Sinimulan ito sa pamamagitan ng pagbabasa ng mga children’s stories tuwing flag ceremony. Nagkaroon din parada, na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral, suot ang kani-kanilang makukulay costumes. Ang mga paligsahan sa pagsulat ng artikulong may kinalaman sa mga tradisyon ng mga Pilipino at ang on-the-spot quiz bee tungkol sa mga bayaning Pilipino ay ilan din sa mga naganap.

Inaasahang hindi maging pabaya ang mga mag-aaral sa pagbabasa, bagkus ay kanila itong isaalang-alang dahil ito ay susi sa tagumpay na ating inaasam.

Noong ika-20 ng Oktubre ganap na 8:30 ng umaga, pormal na binuksan ang drinking fountain sa Gotamco Elementary na ibinahagi ng Pasay Cooperative Development Council sa pamumuno ni Marolyn Catague, ang chairperson.

Kasama ang mga barangay officials, principal, congresswoman, mga PCDC officials, school division superintendent, at mga mag-aaral sa Grade 3 at 4, nagkaroon ng isang maikling program sa covered court ng paaralan. Sinimulan ito sa pambungad na pananalita ni Gng. Laarni Alejandro, punongguro. Nagbigay rin ng mensahe sina Kgg. Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Chairperson Catague, at SDS Evangeline P. Ladines, CESO VI.

Kinalaunan, isinagawa ang ceremonial ribbon-cutting, hudyat ng pagbubukas ng drinking fountain. Umaasa ang lahat ng mga pinuno na ito ay pangangalagaan at iingatan nang sa gayo’y magamit pa ng mga.susunod na mag-aaral.

Masayang ipinagdiwang sa Gotamco Elementary School ang Araw ng mga Guro noong ika-5 ng Oktubre, alas-10 ng umaga, na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral, mga magulang, punungguro, at mga guro upang magbigay ng pasasalamat sa mga guro, na siyang nagtuturong magbilang, magbasa, at magsulat.

Naganap muna ang isang misa, bandang pasado alas-7 ng umaga. Sumunod na ang programa para sa nasabing selebrasyon, kung saan ang mga estudyante ng iba’t ibang baitang ay nagpakitang-gilas sa pagkanta, pagtula, pagsayaw, at iba pa upang maaliw ang madla, lalong-lalo na ang mga bayaning guro para sa kanilang mga sakripisyo.

Kinahapunan, nagbigay rin ng kaunting salu-salo, parlor games, at raffle ang pamunuan ng General Parents-Taechers Association ng GES, kaya lalong napuno ng ligaya ang bawat puso ng mga guro sa araw na iyon.

Binigyang-parangal ang mga guro, punungguro, mga kawani at mga lider ng SDO-Pasay City, kasama ang ating paaralan, Gotamco Elementary School, sa Cuneta Astrodome noong ika-27 ng Setyembre, ganap na alas-tres ng hapon upang kilalanin ang kanilang kadakilaan.

Nagkaroon ng programa, kung saan nagpakita ng kani-kanilang gaing at talent sa pagkanta at pagsayaw ang mga piling guro. May pa-raffle ding naganap, kung saan pinalad ang mga GES teachers na makatanggap ng premyo. May libre ring pagkain mula sa Pasay City Hall. At siyempre may mga booth mula sa mga sponsors, na nagbibigay ng mga freebies.

Lubos na nasiyahan at nabusog ang lahat ng mga dumalo. Nakita at naramdaman rin nila ang pagkilala sa kanilang kabayanihan sa gabing iyon.

Nagpakitang-gilas sa pagsayaw ng katutubong sayaw ang anim na guro ng Gotamco Elementary School sa Teachers’ Got Talent noong Setyembre 20, ganap na alas-nuwebe ng umaga sa Padre Zamora Elementary School.

Bawat guro na kasama sa TGT, na mula sa iba’t ibang paaralan ng Lungsod ng Pasay ay nagpang kani-kanilang talent, bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng mga Guro. Ang patimpalak na ito ay inihanda ng SDO-Pasay City upang maipakita ng mga kaguruan ang kanilang talento at kakayahan sa iba’t ibang larangan at upang magbigay-saya sa kanila.

Ibinigay sa mga Grade One pupils ng Gotamco Elementary School ang Measles, Rubella, Tetanus, Diptheria (MRTD) Vaccine noong ika-13 ng Setyembre, sa ganap na alas-otso ng umaga upang maging ligtas sila sa mga nasabing sakit. Kasama ng mga magulang ng mga mag-aaral sa Unang Baitang, isa-isa tinurukan ng MRTD vaccine ang mga bata sa pangunguna ng mga nars ng dibisyon ng Pasay City, particular na si Bb. Bianca Joyce Y. Peñaflor.

Ayon sa mga nakausap naming magulang, maganda raw ang programang ito ng Department of Health (DOH) at Department of Education (DepEd) upang maiwasan ng kanilang mga anak ang mga naturang sakit at maging malakas ang kanilang immune system sakaling dapuan sila nito.

Humakot ng mga parangal ang sampung batang manunulat ng Gotamco Elementary School sa naganap na awarding ceremony ng Pasay City Young Writers Conference And Contests (PCYWCC) noong ika-16 ng Setyembre sa Padre Burgos Elementary School.

Nagsimula ang suwerte kay Allaine Guia Arroyo na nagkamit ng ikasiyam na puwesto sa pagsulat ng lathalain sa ilalim ng pagsasanay ni Gng. Julie P. Lupango. Sinundan naman ni Andrea R. Tamayo, na nagkamit rin ng ikasiyam na puwesto sa pagsulat ng balita (English category) sa ilalim ng pagsasanay ni Gng. Editha O. Delos Reyes. Si Mikee Pauleen R. Mendozaay nagkamit naman ng ikaanim na puwesto sa pagsulat ng balitang agham at kalusugan sa ilalim ng pagsasanay ni Gng. Julie Lupango. Si Althea Jainal T. Arroyo ay nagkamit ng ikasampung puwesto sa pagsulat ng balitang sports (English category) sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni G. Erwin C. Climacosa. At, si Jana Patricia T. Martillan ay nag-uwi rin ang ikasampung puwesto sa editorial cartooning sa ilalim naman ng pagsasanay ni Gng. Janelyn T. Alfabete. Laxamana na nakatanggap ng parangal bilang “Best in Editoryal Page” sa kategoryang Collaborative Desktop Publishing (Filipino). At, si Mary-Joy Mondillo ay pinarangalan bilang “Best in Editorial Page” at napabilang sa Collaborative Publishing “Best Team” na siyang magrerepresenta ng buong dibisyon ng Pasay kasama si Samara Grace Estapia sa kategoryang Collaborative Desktop Publishing (English).

Isang nakalulugod na balitang makatanggap ng ganitong parangal ang ating paaralan. Ayon sa mga tagapagsanay, ang mga hindi nakatanggap ng parangal ay hindi nararapat mawalan ng pag-asa bagkus ay magsumikap dahil simula pa lamang ito ng ating hakbang at mahaba pa ang daan na ating tatahakin patungo sa tagumpay na inaasam.

Noong ika-13 ng Setyembre isinagawa ang opening program ng Teachers Sportsfest at sa hapon, nagharap ang Cluster 2 hanggang Cluster 10 sa Pasay City Science High School, Pasay City North High School, at Pasay City East High School.

Ayon kay Dr. Canzana, ginaganap ang nasabing sportsfest para sa selebrasyon ng World Teachers’ Day sa taong ito. Nagpapasalamat din siya dahil sa koordinasyon ng Pasay City teachers and employees’ association, headed by the Pasay City Federation.

Kasama ring namuno ang superintendent, mga principals, at mga supervisors.

Dumalo ang mga piling girl scouts ng Gotamco Elementary School mula sa ikalima at ikaanim na baitang sa Escoda Day, na ginanap sa Pasay City West High School noong ika-20 ng Setyembre sa ganap na 2:00 ng hapon upang ipagdiwang ang kaarawan ng yumaong founder ng Girl Scout of the Philippines na si Josefa Llanes Escoda.

Sa ginanap na programa, may mga mag-aaral nagtanghal upang bigyang-kulay ang pagdiriwang. Nagbigay rin ng inspirational message si Dr. Evangeline P. Ladines, CESO VI. Ayon sa kanya, hindi dapat kinalilimutan ang kabayanihang ipinamalas ni Escoda. Sa halip, ipasa ito sa mga susunod pang henerasyon.

Ang bawat paaralan ay nagbigay ng donasyon para kay Pepa.

Binigyan ng Division writeshop ang young campus journalists ng Pasay, na nakapasok sa regional level, sa Padre Burgos Elementary School nooong ika-18 hangang ika-20 ng Setyembre upang ihanda sila para sa nalalapit na Regional Schools Press Conference.

Layunin nitong mapalawak pa ang kaalaman ng mga batang mamamahayag, mahasa silang magsulat at maragdagan ang kanilang kahandaan sa pagsusulat ng artikulo.

Nagbigay ng inspirational message si G. Librado Torres para sa mga kalahok. Hinikayat niyang lahat na galingan upang makapasok sa national level at makapag-uwi ng karangalan sa dibisyon.

Sa pagkakaisa ng mga estudyante, guro, magulang, at Brgy. 18 officials, pormal na binuksan ang Buwan ng Wika noong ika-4 ng Agosto, 2017, ganap na 7:30 ng umaga sa pamamagitan ng isang parada at maikling programa upang ipaalam sa lahat na tuwing Agosto ay ipinagdiriwang ang pagkaroon natin ng wikang Pambansa.

Sa maikling programa, nagbigay ng pambungad na pananalita si Gng. Rosenda T. Sibonga, MT II. Pinasalamatan niya ang lahat na nakiisa upang maisagawa nang maayos ang panimulang selebrasyon. Bukod dito, ilang mga mag-aaral at guro ang nagtanghal upang bigyang-kulay ang programa. Pinarampa rin ang mga mag-aaral na nakasuot ng katutubong kasuotan.

Sa Agosto 24, 2017 ay ipipinid ang pagdiriwang. Pararangalan din ang may pinakamagandang kasuotan at iba pang kalahok sa iba’t ibang patimpalak.

Imbitado ng Japedia Clinic ang mga guro at ang mga mag-aaral, lalong-lalo na ang Ikaanim na Baitang ng Gotamco Elementary School upang ipagdiwang ang ikasampu nilang anibersaryo noong Hulyo 24 hanggang Hulyo 28, 2017.

Noong Hulyo 26, pinangunahan ni Dr. Josefino Adiao ang opening prayer. Sinundan ito ng kanyang pambungad na pananalita. Pagkatapos, nagsimula ba ang lecture mula kay Kuya Ace Alejo, bahagi ng Pasay Rescue Team. Itinuro niya ang mga dapat gawin bago, habang, at pagkatapos ng lindol upang ihanda ang mga mag-aaral sa posibleng pagtama ng ‘The Big One.’ Hinikayat din niya na maging handa sa anumang oras.

Bumisita ang Meralco Foundation sa Paaralaang Elemenyaryang Gotamco noong ika-12 ng Hulyo, 2017 upang maghatid ng tips sa pag-iwas sa iba’t ibang sakuna, sakaling dumating ang mga ito.

Sa nasabing araw, nagkaroon ng isang maikling programa sa covered court ng paaralan sa ganap na ika-8 ng umaga. Kasama rito ang mga mag-aaral ng Kindergarten at mga guro. Dinaluhan din ito ni Pasay City Councilor Mark Anthony Calixto.

Ilan sa mga tips na ibinigay nila ay ang paggamit ng mga plastik na bote. Ipinakilala nila ang ‘Salbabote’, na nangangahulugang ‘kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng bote.’ Maaari itong gamitin bilang salbabida tuwing o kapag may baha. O kaya, ito ay maaaring maging maliit na balsa sa pamamagitan ng pagkakabit-kabit nito.

Sa katauhan ni Gng. Laarni R. Alejandro, punonggguro, nagpasalamat ang GES sa Meralco Foundation. Umaasa ang lahat na maihahatid ang magandang programang ito sa lahat ng lugar at paaralan sa Pilipinas.

Nagkaroon ng parade sa Gotamco Elementary School at sa kalapit na mga kalsada noong Hulyo 7, ganap na 7:00 ng umaga, kasama ang mga guro, estudyante, mga magulang, at Brgy. 18 officials upang mahikayat ang lahat na kumain ng masusustansiyang pagkain at maiwasan ang hindi masusustansiya, upang mahikayat ang bawat pamilya na maghanda ng balanced diet para makaiwas sa mga sakit, upang ipaalala sa mga prodyuser at distribyutor na magbenta ng mga kalakal na tama ang nutrisyon, at upang ipaunawa sa lahat ang kahalagahan ng nutrisyon.

Ayon sa National Nutrition Council (NCC) nasa ika-43 taon na nating ipinagdiriwang ang Nutrition Month, na lagi namang matgaumpay na naisusulong dahil sa pagtutulungan ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Health (DOH).

Pagkatapos ng parada, pinili ang batang may pinakamagandang head gear. Sunod-sunod ring isasagawa ang mga patimpalak gaya ng cooking, poster-making, slogan-making contests, at iba pa.

Sinimulan noong ika-29 ng Hunyo, ganap na alas-nuwebe ng umaga ang paghahanda sa ‘The Big One’ sa pamumuno ni G. Renerio T. Torniado, School DRRMC Coordinator upang ihanda ang mga mag-aaral, mga guro, at mga kalapit na barangay sa posibleng pagtama ng lindol.

Kalmadong tumakbo pababa at palabas ang mga estudyante at mga guro bilang pagsasanay, habang ang komite ay abala sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at pagtitiyak na walang masasaktan sa gawain. Tumulong rin ang mga opisyales ng Brgy. 18, sa pamumuno ni Kgg. Orlando De Mesa. Samantala, nagkaroon naman ng bahagi ang mga piling mag-aaral sa Ikaanim na Baitang upang maisadula ang pagkakaroon ng mga casualties at injured.

Naging matagumpay ang paghahanda, na bahagi ng nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill dahil na rin sa pagkakaisa ng lahat.

Alam mo ba kung ano ang dengue at kung saan ito nagmula? Tara, atin itong alamin.

Ang dengue ay isang sakit na nanggagaling sa lamok na naninirahan sa maruming lugar— maaaring sa alulod ng bubong ng bahay, sa nakatambak na gulong, sa balde o water container na walang takip, at sa kanal. Maaaring ikamatay ng biktima ang sakit na ito.

Maraming paraan upang maiwasan ang sakit na dengue. Linisan ang kapaligiran, Puwedeng magsagawa ng dengue campaign, kung saan maaaring maglinis ng paligid, kasama ang buong barangay. Kung ito ay maisasagawa, tiyak na mababawasan ang mabibiktima ng dengue sa bansa.

Walang masama kung ang kalinisan ay paiiralin. Magbubunga rin ito ng maganda sa ating bansa. Laging tatandaan, walang masama kung ito ay susubukan.

Isinulong sa Gotamco Elementary School ang isang programa na tinatawag na Clean-Up Drive at Dengue Awareness Program, na pinamunuan ni G. Renerio T. Torniado, DRRMS Coordinator, kasama ang mga magulang ng mga mag-aaral noong ika-20 ng Hunyo, 2017 sa ganap na ikaanim ng umaga upang panatilihing malinis loob at labas ng paaralan at ligtas sa sakit ang lahat.

Layunin ng nasabing paaralan na makaiwas sa sakit, lalo na sa dengue na nagmumula sa mga lamok na namamamahay sa maruruming lugar. Gusto nilang mapaganda at mapanatili ang kanlinisan dahil, anila, ay mas kaaya-ayang tingnan at pagmasdan ang eskuwelahang malinis.

Naging matagumpay naman ang pagsasagawa nila ng paglilinis dahil sa kanilang pagkakaisa. Umaasa silang mapanatiling malinis ang GES at araw-araw isasagawa ng kampanya laban sa dengue.

Isang pagpupulong, na tinawag na Stakeholders’ Assembly, ang isinagawa ng mga magulang, mga guro, punungguro, at pati na rin ng mga opisyales ng Barangay 18, sa covered court ng Gotamco Elementary School noong ika-9 ng Hunyo, 2017 sa ganap na ala-una ng hapon upang isakatuparan ang atas ng Department of Education.

Sa kanilang pagpupulong, ipinakilala ni Gng. Joan Remalante, Master Teacher I, ang mga guro ng bawat baitang. Inihayag rin ng punungguro, na si Gng. Laarni R. Alenjandro, ang mga nilalaman ng School Report Card o ang mga programa at proyekto ng nagdaang administrasyon. Huling nagsalita si G. Erwin C. Climacosa, MT I, upang ipaalam sa mga magulang ang mga alituntunin ng paaralan at ang maaaring maging parusa sa kanilang mga anak, na lumabag sa mga nabanggit na rules and regulations.

Pagkatapos ng assembly, nagkaroon din ng meeting ang mga magulang at adviser sa bawat silid-aralan. Nagbotohan na rin sila ng HPTA officers SY 2017-2018.

Masiglang binuksan ang Panurauang Taon 2017-2018 sa Gotamco Elementary School noong ika-5 ng Hunyo, 2017 sa ganap na ika-6 ng umaga sa tulong ng mga magulang, mga guro, mga estudyante, punungguro at iba pang empleyado ng nasabing paaralan upang tuparin ang misyon at bisyon ng Department of Education (DepEd) na maipagpatuloy ang mataas na kalidad ng edukasyon.

Muling nanaig ang bayanihan sa paaralang Elementaryang Gotamco nang pasimulan ang Brigada Eskwela 2017,na may temang “Isang DepEd, Isang Pangarap, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan” noong ika-15 ng Mayo sa pamumuno nina Gng. Laarni Alejandro, chairman, at Gng. Vilma Nabua, co-chairman, upang ihanda ang paaralan sa muling pagbubukas nito sa ika-5 ng Hunyo, 2017.

Sinikap ni Gng. Alejandro na gawing ligtas ang paaralan. Katuwang niya ang mga guro, mga magulang, mga estudyante, mga non-teaching personnel, mga opisyal ng barangay, mga empleyado ng mga pribadong kompanya sa paghahanda ng kapaligiran, mga silid-aralan at ng bawat anggulo ng paaralan. Isa itong hamon sa kanya, bilang bagong punungguro ng naturang institusyon. Ang kanyang pag-upo sa unang araw ay sinalubong agad siya ng isang mabigat na responsibilidad. Gayunpaman, nakitaan siya ng determinasyon at dedikasyon sa kanyang tungkulin. Kaya naman, sa ilang araw pa lamang niyang paninilbihan, marami na ang nakapansin sa malaking pagbabago sa pisikal na aspeto at pamunuan.

Sa maikling mensaheng binigkas niya sa pampinid na programa ng Brigada Eskwela, pinasalamatan niya ang lahat na nakiisa sa bayanihan. Hinikayat rin ang mga guro na muling makipagtulungan sa kanya sa mga susunod pang araw sa ikatatamo ng tagumpay ng misyon at bisyon ng kagawaran.

The faculty of Gotamco Elementary School, headed by SBM School Coordinator, Mrs. Geraldine E. Milo, joined forces for the reinstallation of School-Based Management (SBM) room on April 17, 2017, as mandated by the Division Office and based on the SBM Plan of Activities for CY 2017, prepared by Mrs. Lovelynn Jane S. Bacera, PSDS/Division SBM Coordinator, to adhere to the timeline of activities for the smooth conduct of the plan.

The one-week reinstallation was participated by the school’s clerk, grade leaders, master teachers, and teachers. The willingness of the workforce, despite the fact of vacation period and summer heat, made the activity a triumphant one. The leadership of the leaders and focal person also contributed to it. Thus, the favorable result conformed to the advocacy campaign of the division. Hence, everyone is inspired to file and collect necessary data, forms, and documents for the purpose of easier school management. The transparency could also be in practice.

The evaluation of the newly-installed SBM room took place on 2nd week of May, 2017.

The outstanding pupils of Gotamco Elementary School were awarded on Recognition Day, happened on the 31st day of March, 2017, at 9 o’ clock in the morning in the school quadrangle to pay off their hardships and excellence in academics, sports, journalism, and arts.

Engr. Florence Louisse Gelen, the event guest speaker, partook with the milestones of the awardees and honor pupils, as she helped in awarding the certificates and medals. In returned, she inspired them with her encouraging anecdotes and words of wisdom. She also uplifted the roles of the teachers and parents to every success of the learners. It was proven by her own stories told in front of the crowd and her success in the chosen field. Pupils from every grade level with ‘natatanging pag-uugali’ were chosen beforehand and given a recognition, as well for being morally upright and for having a favourable behaviour throughout the school year.

Teachers-trainers, coordinators, focal persons, and chairmen who actively participated in contests, events, and programs were also acknowledged. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to each of them. Each faculty member’s year in service was also emphasized. There are parents who received award. They are the GPTA officers, headed by Mrs. Juvy B. Celos, and the GES Drum and Lyre, headed by Mrs. Juvan Moreno, for their unwavering support to the institution.

A simple feast was given to the educators of the Alma Mater after the recognition program. It once again proved that teachers take a special place for every learner’s accomplishment.

Mr. Renerio T. Torniado, School Disaster and Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM) Coordinator led the opening program for Fire Prevention Month 2017 on the first day of March, as he discussed the essence of prevention from the deadliest incident of all time.

On the said date, a fire drill was held, through the help of Brgy. 18 officials, headed by Brgy. Captain Orly De Mesa. It was followed by a film showing, where the video of how to prevent the fire and the do’s and dont’s during fire incidents were shown.

To further the knowledge and understanding on fire prevention, Torniado initiated a poster-making contest for the pupils, with the theme, “Buhay at ari-arian ay pahalagahan. Ibayong pag-iingat sa sunog ay sa sa riling pamamamahay simulan.” It was actively participated by the chosen artists from Grades 4 to 6.

On March 5, Jonas David Celos, from Grade 6, was with awarded cash, certificate, and medal for being the best in poster-making. The four runners-up, also received the same prizes. They are Ronnel C. Castro, (VI-1), Josaiah Lorrence C. Sibonga (VI-1), Althea Arroyo (V-1), and Junniel O. Tilad (IV-1), respectively.

The majority of GES pupils participated on the field demo, which took place on January 20, 2017 at the GES covered court, at exactly 8:00 o’ clock in the morning, to showcase their talents and skills in dancing and calisthenics.

Every grade level joined the festive event. Each performance gained applause and appreciation. Kinder pupils showed off their calisthenics moves using pompoms. Grade One pupils, who seemed like Minions on their cute costumes, wowed the crowd. Grade Two pupils grooved to the music of Shakira—“Wakaka.” Grade Three pupils rocked on the court using the modern medley songs. Grade Four pupils sashayed on the dance floor, with the tune of ‘Sway.’ A spectacular medley ballroom dancing was performed by Grade Five pupils. And, Grade Six pupils got the audiences’ attention as they gracefully did basic folk steps, with the use of castanets.

Pedro D. Gloriani, Education Program Supervisor-MAPEH, witnessed one of the biggest happenings of Gotamco Elementary School. He surely had a good impression from the performances and from the utmost support of the parents.

Everyone, who has witnessed the “Love is in the Air” Valentine program, fell in love to the presentations from the selected pupils from different grade levels, held on the 14th day of February, 2017 at the GES quadrangle.

Song numbers, poem recital, and dance numbers were showcased during the event, so that heart of each spectator would be touched. For the sake of expressing love and respect, talented learners become performers. Educators were delighted. They felt loved.

The highlight of the event culminated as six teachers were hailed as Mr. and Ms. Valentines 2017. Mr. Arsenio P. Mirando, Jr. and Mrs. Joan M. Villaranda got the titles, while Mr. Renerio T. Torniado and Ms. Maribel G. Iblasin are the first runners-up; and Mr. Erwin C. Climacosa and Mrs. Janelyn T. Alfabete are the second runners-up.

Grade Two teachers spearheaded the said program. And, its success was seen, not in the air, but from the smile of the crowd, who celebrated the love month at Gotamco Elementary School.

Si Cabahug ay bahagi Collaborative and Desktop Publishing Team ng Pasay City. Siya ang tanging nagwagi sa anim na lumahok. Inuwi niya ang ikapitong puwesto. Ikinarangal ng paaralan ang mga mag-aaral na ito sapagkat ang kanilang tagumpay ay tunay na nakapagdulot ng inspirasyon sa kapwa nila mag-aaral.

Gotamco Elementary School celebrated United Nations Organizations Day all throughout the month of October, though series of integration of topics, parade of national costumes and flags, and search for Mr. and Ms. UN 2016 to commemorate and celebrate the importance of having unity around the world.

Teachers integrated about UNO to their lessons and discussions, which somehow helped on better understanding and appreciation of the different nations and its history. Flags of the different nations were displayed at the hallway, as well. Then, on the 21st day, at the early hour, parade of national flags, and costumes, which were worn by escorts and muses, took place around the catchment areas of the school. Afterwards, the search and the crowning for Mr. and Ms. UN 2016 happened, wherein Hayden Chase Roxas, a Kinder pupil, was hailed as the Mr. UN 2016; and Life Nicole A. Garcia, a Grade Two pupil, was crowned as Ms. UN 2016. Four pairs of runners-up were also declared. Cash, sash, and trophy were given to each titlist.

The different national and traditional dances were showcased by the selected muses and escorts during the production number.

The General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) of Gotamco Elementary School paid tribute to the GES faculty on October 7, 2016, as they celebrate the World Teachers’ Day.

The GPTA officers, headed by Mrs. Juvy B. Celos, spearheaded the event. A mini-program was made. Parlor games are happily played, which made every educator’s heart filled with laughter and fun. Later, the sumptuous meals were served. People with good hearts joined their purses to provide food and fill the teachers’ tummy. A video presentation was also shown. It displayed how everyone got along with each other and how camaraderie is established in the past few years. All in all, the simple tribute created a great impact to everybody’s soul. They once again felt how noblest the teaching profession is. No one thought that he/she is not a community’s asset, but rather claimed he/she truly shapes the youth’s future.

Mrs. Evelyn D. Deliarte, Principal II, congratulated the GPTA officials and the faculty for the positive result of their unity and good rapport.

National Science Month 2016 On The Rise

It’s “Ber Month” once again and the cold breeze of this season doesn’t only reminds us that Christmas is counting, because every fall of September the whole country is celebrating the National Science Month.

This year’s theme “Environmental Protection and Conservation of Ecosystem” spells out our need for environmental awareness and more importantly in undertaking activities that will help protect and conserve our physical world we live in.

In observance to this yearly affair, the school was envisioned and committed to undertake activities that will bridge the realization of different environmental goals in school level.

Motivated to bring out the significance of this event, last September 2, 2016 the kick-off ceremony was done. All teachers, parents, and pupils joined together in the unity walk that seek to inform and educate the community in their role as partners and stakeholders.

Right after the parade, a short program formally opened this month long celebration. Mrs. RosendaSibonga, Master Teacher II, stressed out to the whole studentry the significance of holding this kind of activity. And she encouraged everyone to participate in the different activities laid out for the whole month.

Meanwhile, the induction and oath taking of the newly elected Science Club Officers and YES-O Club Officers followed which was spearheaded by Mrs. Geraldine E. Milo, grade six Science teacher.

When it was time for some surprise number, the Kinder pupils showcased their dancing ability in their Hawaiian Dance matched with colorful and vibrant costumes. It was followed with a solo performance by a grade two pupil. Then, selected Grade Five pupils amazed at the same time touched the heart of all the spectators with their environmental interpretative dance.

One of the highlights during the event was the presentation of the official candidates for the search of “ MissAgham 2016”. Loud cheers roared in the air when each of the candidate introduced themselves during their production number.

Indeed, it was a prolific day and everybody is looking forward to the different activities rolled out, making science alive.

Arsenio Mirando, ang Risk Reduction Management Coordinator ng GES, upang maging handa at ligtas ang lahat sa posibleng sakuna ng ‘The Big One’.

Matapos ang dalawampung minuto, nagkaroon ng maikling pananalita sina G. Mirando at Gng. Evelyn Deliarte, punungguro.

Ipinagdiwang ng buong paaralan ang Buwan ng Wika 2016 sa pamamagitan ng mga magkakasunod na programa at mga gawaing nagpapapaunlad sa wikang Filipino, na pinangunahan ni Gng. Rhodora K. Bartido, pampaaralang koordineytor, upang sariwain ang kadakilaan ng pagkakaroon ng wikang sarili, mula una hangang sa huling araw ng Agosto.

Noong ika-5 ng Agosto, binuksan ang selebrasyon sa pamamagitan ng isang parada at maikling palatuntunan. Hinikayat noon, ng dating punungguro, Gng.Evelyn D. Deliarte, na makiisa ang bawat mag-aaral at guro sa pagpapalaganap sa kahalagahan ng pambansang wika sa edukasyon at pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay ng tao. Nagkaroon din ng pagtatanghal mula sa iba’t ibang pangkat. May umawit, tumula, nag-akrostik, at sumayaw upang ipakita ang talentong Pilipino.

Ang mga patimpalak sa pagsulat ng tula at sanaysay, pagbigkas ng tula, at pagbabalagtasan ay ginawa sa ikalawa at ikatlong linggo ng nasabing buwan. Ang mga nagwagi ay pinagtanghal sa pampinid na programa, na ginanap noong ika-31 ng Agosto. Ginawaran din sila ng mga premyo.

Sinabi ni Gng. Rosenda T. Sibonga, Dalubguro II, na nasisiyahan siya sa husay ng mga mag-aaral at sa dedikasyon ng mga magulang at guro upang mairaos nang matagumpay ang pagdiriwang.
