Gotamco Elementary School Faculty and Staff headed by the School Principal, Mrs. Lea M. Marcelo, with the total of 456 participants actively participated the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 9, 2023.
The students performed drop, cover, and hold in their respective classrooms. Teachers and staff who were present in the school also showed active participation. Health protocols were maintained and observed.
A post evaluation was administered by Barangay Councilor Juan U. Arevalo together with Mr. Dave Matthew R. Palmero, the SDRRMC Coordinator to give emphasis on the significance and how beneficial of the said activity for the safety of everybody, inside and outside the school premises.

On May 8, 2023, Mrs. Lea M. Marcelo, the School Principal, led the faculty and staff of Gotamco Elementary School in actively participating in the 2nd Quarter
Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). A total of 503 participants took part in the drill.
The students in their individual classrooms executed the drop, cover, and hold technique. Additionally, the teachers and staff present in the school actively engaged in the drill, while strictly adhering to and maintaining health protocols.
Barangay Councilor Juan U. Arevalo, along with Mr. Dave Matthew R. Palmero, the SDRRMC Coordinator, conducted a post-evaluation to underscore the importance and benefits of the activity in ensuring the safety of everyone, both within and beyond the school premises.

NARRATIVE REPORT:
Gotamco Elementary School participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last February 21,2019. It was a “success”, as the whole school participated and learned on how they should act in an event of a high intensity earthquake.
The drill began on time in GES, with sirens ringing at 9:00am and 2:00 pm respectively. After the simulated 60-second quake, pupils, teachers, parents and all the persons present inside the school were seen evacuating and seek refuge in open spaces at Sinciego St., Jockian St., and in Chinkiang St.
After the drill, a brief evaluation and discussion on disaster preparedness was done in the school quadrangle. Pupils and teachers showed active participation in the said activity.
