Teaching with Heart: ges Educators Recognized by Ritz EDCOM 2
by Mr. Dave Matthew Palmero
On May 29, 2025, Gotamco Elementary School proudly welcomed observers from Ritz EDCOM 2—The Second Congressional Commission on Education—as part of the ongoing Learning Remedial Program initiated by the Schools Division of Pasay City. This significant visit aimed to assess and highlight effective teaching practices and interventions that support learners needing additional academic assistance.

Among the many dedicated educators at Gotamco, Mrs. Lorimer Sibonga and Mr. Emman Jay Gabor were chosen to showcase their instructional expertise. With professionalism, creativity, and a deep sense of commitment, both teachers led their remedial classes with energy and clarity, capturing the attention of both students and visiting evaluators.

Mrs. Sibonga’s session focused on reading comprehension strategies, utilizing differentiated instruction to address the various learning levels of her students. Her use of visual aids, interactive discussions, and real-time assessment showcased her strong grasp of remedial teaching techniques.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gabor’s class provided a dynamic approach to mathematical problem-solving. Through guided practice and learner-centered strategies, he was able to help students grasp difficult numerical concepts with confidence. His rapport with his students, classroom management, and passion for teaching did not go unnoticed by the observers.
The presence of Ritz EDCOM 2 in our school underscores the importance of grassroots-level observation in crafting effective education policies. Their mission to reform and revitalize the Philippine educational system starts with listening to the voices of those at the frontlines—our teachers.
The Gotamco Elementary School community extends its warmest congratulations to Mrs. Sibonga and Mr. Gabor. Their performance exemplifies the excellence and dedication that Gotamco Elementary School strives to uphold in all its programs.
