Gotamco Elementary School Faculty and Staff celebrated Women’s Month 2023 with a Theme: We for Gender Equality & Inclusive Society. It was conducted last March 22, 2023, at 10 o’clock in the morning at GES covered court.

The Opening Prayer was led by Mrs. Editha O. Delos Reyes, Grade 2 Teacher, followed by Nationalistic Song, Pasay Hymn & Deped Quality Management System via audio visual presentation. An interactive checking of Attendance via personality test was led by Mr. Joel Keliste, Grade 6 Teacher. Then the School Principal, Mrs. Lea Marcelo delivered her welcome remarks.

                   Rationale of Women’s Month by Maam Melanie Borbe, GAD Focal Person. She reiterated that it is an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievement and struggle of woman in today’s generation. The 2023-2028 aims to inform and engage women for projects that contribute to nation building and strengthen the Magna Carta for Women. To empower women and take on leadership roles and promote a society that is inclusive and each individual has rights. Afterwards, the Introduction of Guest Speaker was delivered by Mrs. Joan P. Remalante, Master Teacher 1.

                      A heartwarming Inspirational Message was delivered by Mrs. Grace Santos – Councillor, District 1 Pasay City & Chairman of Gender and Equality in Pasay City. She informed the group that she enjoyed the company of teachers in making and building a strong community and applauded Gotamco Elementary School in remembering and honoring the women. Then moving on to the next speaker, he was introduced by Mr. Erwin C. Climacosa, Master Teacher 1.

 

                    The second guest speaker is a full-time and top Financial Advisor of Sun Life – Mr Charlie Lopez. substantially explained the importance of having insurance and securing the lives of people. He also facilitated a bring me game to energize the group during discussion. After the talk, an empowering poem entitles “Babae Ka Sumulong Ka” was presented by Mr. Froilan Elizaga, Grade 4 Teacher.

                    A fun and exciting trivia game was facilitated by the Grade 3 Teachers, Mrs. Lorimer C. Sibonga and Mr. Jul Lester Castillo.  With prizes – flat iron and salon gift certificates.

                  To cap off the program, umbrella souvenirs, vitamins and face masks was given to all GES Faculty and staff, and a photo op to capture the moment. Ms. Melanie Borbe, GAD Focal Person, also expressed her gratitude to the people who helped in making the event a successful one. Then, the closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Jess Delos Reyes, Master Teacher II. The program ended at 2:30 in the afternoon.

                  It was indeed a day of celebrating equal rights of men and women of GES.
